A Little About Me
From the time I was 11 years old, I’ve always loved gift wrapping. What started as a simple fascination with pretty paper and the fun of decorating each package turned into something much more meaningful. One of my first real experiences was helping wrap holiday gifts for a Chicago businessman who also owned an NFL team. The employees’ kids - including me - would go to his office on Saturdays from right after Thanksgiving until the weekend before Christmas, carefully wrapping presents. Even at that age, I noticed how happy it made me to wrap something that would brighten someone else’s day, besides mine!
That early experience stayed with me. Over the years, I became the go-to wrapper for family, friends, coworkers, and anyone who wanted their gifts to look thoughtful, fun, and memorable. I’ve always believed that presentation sets the tone - that before a gift is even opened, it should already feel personal and meaningful.
Today, that same passion is at the heart of Oh, Wow! Gift Wrapping Service. Every package is treated as a small celebration, styled with care, creativity, and a hint of magic. If you’re ever curious about the meaning behind the name “Oh, Wow!”, I’d be happy to share the inspiration.
And if you’re curious what I earned for wrapping all those gifts over the four Saturdays — I made $25 for the entire season, and it felt like a fortune to me back then. And if you’d like to know what I spent that $25 on… just ask!
And the stocking full of candy canes the company gave us the last day of wrapping? That was the sweetest reward of all!
